Historical Information: 83 4-axle DASH 8-40BW diesel locomotives were produced by GE in the early 1990s for Santa Fe with the new North American Cab. These high horsepower BW40-8 engines are still in service.

Its many features include a five-pole skewed armature motor with dual flywheels for optimum performance at all speeds, directional lighting, and factory-equipped AccuMate® knuckle couplers. Additional features include operating ditch lights, a realistic die-cast under-frame, painted crew figures, separately-installed scale windshield wipers, metal grab irons and fine scale handrails, highly detailed coupler cut bars, multiple unit hoses and train-line hoses, snowplow, shock absorbers, and piping on trucks.
