Historical Information: RS-11 1800 hp diesel road switcher locomotives were produced by ALCO over a period of 8 years starting in early 1956. They could be found in service on passenger and commuter lines as well as heavy-haul and local freight. Some are still in service today on various short lines.
This Atlas HO scale Classic Silver locomotive is DCC-READY and comes with an 8-pin socket for easy DCC/Sound decoder installation. Its many features include golden-white LEDs, realistic die-cast mainframe, directional lighting, separately-applied wire grab irons, factory installed AccuMate® knuckle couplers, a dual flywheel-equipped five-pole skewed armature motor for optimum performance at all speeds, MU hoses and coupler cut bars, and two painted crew members.
