UP 9853, built in September 1984 as D&RGW 5509, was one of 427 SD-50 six-axle 3500 hp diesel-electric locomotives produced by EMD between December 1980 and July 1987. Many are still in service.
ATLAS 49399 N scale is DCC/decoder ready and comes with a slower speed motor for closer to scale speeds. Its many features include directional lighting, golden-white LEDs, blackened wheels, AccuMate® magnetic knuckle couplers, and separate plow and winterization hatch that can be installed by the modeler.
