Historical Information: 310 four-axle 1500 hp GP15-1 diesel locomotives were produced by EMD between 1976 and 1982. Most were used as light road switchers or yard switchers.
Atlas Trainman N scale GP15-1 is DCC-READY for easy DCC decoder installation. It comes with a dual flywheel equipped 5-pole skewed armature motor with a low friction mechanism. The many features of the locomotive include scale dimensions and details, directional lighting, blackened metal wheels, and factory-installed AccuMate® magnetic knuckle couplers.
